General genealogy
research is charged by the hour. In addition to the hourly rate, out-of-pockets
costs are added. This includes items such as copy fees, postage, document fees,
parking, and out-of-metro-Denver mileage.
The client has complete control of the amount of money they invest.
Most research
projects are done in time blocks, such as 10, 20, or more hours. Near the
completion of the authorized time block the client is contacted and provided
with a report of the findings. At that time the client may choose to extend,
postpone, or finalize the project.
A 50% deposit is must be received by Family Footprints prior to initiating
the project.

Payment can be made either by personal check or

Using a format recommended by the Board of Certified Genealogists the report
includes:
1. The starting point: a recapitulation of the problem and the
client-supplied data
2. Remarks
3. A summary of the findings
4. Itemized research findings with full source citations. This may be
followed with analytical comments.
5. Recommendations for future work
Yes. A full citation will be on all documents and on the client report.
Yes. Photography services are available. The photos can be printed, emailed,
or copied to a CD for the client.
Yes. Although this is possible there is not a guarantee of the continued
hourly rate. In addition, depending on the time delay, additional time may be charged to
review the previously completed work.
7. Will you give talks to
non-genealogists, or social groups?
Yes, yes. I am delighted to share my love for genealogy with everyone. Two
topics that non-genealogists enjoy are: Gathering Your Family
Memories and Basic Genealogy How-to. Please checkout my lecture
topics. If you do not see a fitting subject, I may be convinced to create a new
one.

8. Will you give classes to a group or tutor one-on-one?
Yes. I enjoy teaching both beginning and advanced classes. The advanced
workshops usually focus on a specific topic. One-on-one tutoring is a great way
to quickly further your personal family quest.
